Substitute Teacher

Substitute Teachers work on an as-needed basis to provide instructional support in the absence of a regular classroom teacher. There are no guaranteed hours or set schedules. Substitute Teachers implement lesson plans, support student learning, and maintain a safe, positive learning environment for students who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, or Visually Impaired. Assignments may vary in length and location based on the operational needs of CSDB.

This is a temporary, as-needed position with no guaranteed hours or set schedule. Temporary employees participate in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA), receive Workers' Compensation coverage, and are subject to applicable federal, state, and local tax with holdings. This position is not eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave, holiday pay, or other employee benefits.

Verification of education, licensure, and applicable work experience is required. Direct deposit is required. Successful candidates must comply with all applicable Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) and State of Colorado policies, including the Drug-Free Workplace Policy. Employment is contingent upon verification of identity and authorization to work in the United States in accordance with federal law. Successful candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, which may include criminal history checks, employment verification, licensure verification, and professional reference checks.
