CSS is seeking an innovative and creative educator with a broad skill set in math. A successful candidate must be prepared to teach:
Geometry, Algebra II, AP Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB. This position reports directly to the Associate Head of School and will have a variety of responsibilities related to delivering the school program.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree (preferred) in the field of math
- Experience teaching courses from 6th through 12th grades
- Innovative mindset with strong skills in communication, collaboration, project-based learning, and technology
- Teach up to five sections of upper school math.
- Support a differentiated and globally integrated curriculum that includes student engagement through project-based learning, hands-on activities, experimentation and iteration, and other active approaches to learning.
- Serve as an instructor in our signature experiential learning opportunities both on campus and away throughout the year, which sometimes require travel
- Attend all faculty meetings, department meetings, and other meetings as required
- Be able to collaborate effectively and facilitate the development of a positive class culture that supports learning and personal growth
- Complete grades/comments, advisor letters, and other forms of academic communication in a timely, professional manner
- Appreciate and support varying learning abilities through robust lesson planning and rigorous assessment
- Provide regular and valuable student feedback and maintain assessment records
- Promote the development of character, community, and curiosity in all dealings with students, including enforcing school rules
- Know the developmental and academic abilities of one’s students and communicate with students and families regularly
- Adhere to the standards described in the Employee Handbook
$45,000 - $52,000 annually based on skills and experience.
