Overview
Lecturer - Social Work (Pool) at University of Colorado Colorado Springs
. This is a pool for future temporary, non-tenure track appointments in the Department of Social Work, College of Public Service. The University will not sponsor work visas or permanent resident applications for this position.
The College of Public Service invites applications to establish and maintain an ongoing pool of lecturer applications from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs will be made. The BSW and MSW programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Commission on Accreditation.
Accreditation indicates program quality as evaluated through a peer review process. The University ensures resources to meet its mission and goals, and accreditation applies to all program sites and delivery methods.
This is a part-time lecturer position, appointments made on a semester-by-semester basis. The person will primarily teach undergraduate-level courses in Social Work, with the possibility of occasional graduate-level teaching as needed. Courses may include, but are not limited to:
Introduction to Social Work;
Social Work Research;
Human Behavior and the Social Environment;
Contemporary Issues in Social and Public Policy;
Social Work Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups; and/or Social Work Practice with Organizations and Communities. Offerings include day and evening classes and multiple formats (face-to-face, hybrid, online). Duties include preparing syllabi, course development, teaching, and managing student grades in the learning management system.

Qualifications- For social work practice courses: MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program; at least two years of full-time post-MSW social work practice experience or equivalent.
- For non-practice courses:
PhD, DSW, MSW, or master’s degree in a related field; subject-matter expertise demonstrated by coursework (transcripts) or relevant work experience (resume). - At least 9 months of teaching and/or professional training experience in Social Work or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience teaching in multiple formats (face-to-face, hybrid, online) is preferred.

Pay: 1st & 2nd course = $3,250/course; 3rd & 4th course = $3,450/course; 5th course and beyond = $3,750/course.
