Aug 1, 2026. Full‑time. Salary: $17.75 to $21.20 per hour. This role supports Buena Vista Elementary School’s ESL program, working under a certified teacher to provide instructional support to students in individuals or small groups, reinforce learning, and promote skill development.

This position provides instructional support to students, implementing strategies to meet diverse learning needs, monitoring and documenting progress and behavior, and maintaining accurate classroom records. The role also supports classroom operations by preparing materials, assisting with assessments and attendance, completing clerical tasks, and fostering a positive, structured learning environment across classrooms, playgrounds, lunchrooms, and school activities.

• Provide instructional support to students under the direction of a certified teacher.
• Implement instructional strategies and classroom supports to meet diverse student learning needs.
• Monitor, document, and report student progress and behavior; assist with required records and classroom data.
• Support classroom operations by preparing instructional materials, assisting with assessments, recording attendance, and completing required paperwork.
• Assist students with classroom activities and daily routines to support engagement, independence, and successful participation.
• Promote a positive, structured learning environment by reinforcing school rules and appropriate behavior across settings.
• Supervise students in various environments, including classroom, playground, lunchroom, field trips, and other school activities.
• Perform clerical and organizational tasks: data entry, filing, copying, laminating, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
• Assist with classroom logistics and events such as transitions, drills, and special activities.
• Utilize standard office and classroom technology to support instructional and operational needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Title 1 Schools Only:
  • Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
  • Obtained an associate’s or higher degree; or
  • Demonstrated rigorous standard of quality through a formal state or local academic assessment (e.g., ACT-Work Keys and ETS-Para Pro).
