The Early Childhood Education Department combines a deep passion for early education with meaningful support for the staff who make the magic happen. We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Preschool Plus Para educator to support extended care programming for preschool students. This position works closely with teachers to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support that helps young children build independence, confidence, and school readiness skills in an inclusive learning environment.
The Preschool Plus Para educator helps maintain safe, engaging, and organized classrooms while supporting daily routines, individualized student needs, and positive social-emotional development. The ideal candidate is reliable, patient, flexible, team-oriented, and passionate about supporting young children with diverse learning and developmental needs.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides instructional support to students under the direction of a certified teacher, working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote skill development. The role supports diverse student needs by implementing instructional strategies, monitoring and documenting progress and behavior, and maintaining accurate classroom records.
The position contributes to effective classroom operations by preparing instructional materials, assisting with assessments and attendance, and completing clerical and organizational tasks. It helps create a positive, structured learning environment by reinforcing expectations, supporting student engagement and independence, and supervising students across a variety of settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, lunchrooms, and school activities.
This role requires strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills, as well as the ability to support both instructional and operational needs throughout the school day.
Salary Range: $17.57-$20.99
