Rocky Vista High School, a 27J School in Commerce City, CO, is seeking 7 educators to serve on its Founding Teacher Leadership Team and help prepare the school for its opening in Fall 2027.

Every student belongs here, is believed in for their potential, and is valued for who they are. We design learning, opportunities, and support around the strengths, needs, identities, and experiences students bring with them.

Our values, STORM commitments, and guiding learning principles establish the foundation for Rocky Vista. The Founding Teacher Leadership Team will help translate that foundation into the everyday experiences of students and adults.

Number of Positions: 7 - One in each core area (4), one elective teacher, one SPED teacher, one counselor

Stipend: $2400

The Founding Teacher Leadership Team will work with the principal to develop a coherent Rocky Vista experience. This is a working team where members will examine needs, develop ideas, design practices, make recommendations, and revise the work as we learn more.

The team will contribute to:

• Student Learning: Defining what students should consistently experience in Rocky Vista classrooms, including rigorous grade level learning, relationships, student ownership, productive struggle, meaningful feedback, dialogue, reflection, and multiple pathways to demonstrate learning.
• Belonging and Support: Helping design systems that ensure students are known, connected, supported, and able to access opportunities. This may include MTSS, restorative practices, well being, student support processes, and student voice.
• Adult Collaboration and Learning: Helping shape how staff will collaborate, use evidence, improve instruction, receive support, and continue learning. This may include Professional Learning Communities, professional learning, and the future role of the Instructional Leadership Team.
• Culture and Community: Helping translate Rocky Vista's values into routines, expectations, traditions, student and family partnerships, communication, and the opening year experience.
• Founding Staff: Participating in the selection and preparation of educators who will become part of Rocky Vista's inaugural staff.

The team will also help address the practical decisions involved in opening a school. Some will shape major systems. Others will concern the smaller routines that determine what it feels like to learn, teach, work, and belong at Rocky Vista.

We want a team with different experiences, strengths, content areas, and perspectives. A formal leadership title is not required.

We are not looking for educators who already have every answer. We are looking for people who understand the responsibility of building from the beginning and want to help turn Rocky Vista's commitments into a school students and adults can experience everyday.

The Founding Teacher Leadership Team will help build the bridge between what we believe and how Rocky Vista operates.
