Bilingual Japanese Application Engineer
Essential Functions
- Interface with engineering team in Japan to respond to customer requirements, including providing product technical documentation, engineering drawings, 3D models, test reports, etc.
- Interface with QA team in Japan to manage customer and field escalations by driving root cause analysis and corrective action, providing failure analysis reports and QA documentations to customers for full resolution.
- Provide technical support to customers for gas delivery components for semiconductor manufacturing; coordinate between local sales teams and factory engineering teams to formulate responses, proposals, and solutions.
- Support associated functional team members by managing First Article Inspection from submission to approval by customers.
- Assist new business development/sales teams in making technical presentations, product data analysis, and engineering test reports to customers.
- Develop and maintain internal engineering documentations.
- Maintain expert-level product knowledge and applications.
- Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
- Respond to functional and technical elements of Requests for Information (RFIs)/Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
- Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements.
- Identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction throughout all stages of the sales process.
- Perform technical/product training for salespeople, estimators, and engineers at targeted accounts.
- Assist in the design and development of new products and tools necessary to make target accounts comfortable and successful at selling lighting controls.
- Travel to project sites to perform start-up, integration, troubleshooting, and training services.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
- Actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
- Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
- Maintain professional business relationships within assigned customer accounts.
- Provide status updates on ongoing and future projects on a periodic basis.
- Identify customers’ needs and sales opportunities to help drive future growth.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering (preferably mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering) or Sciences (physics) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 2+ years of industry experience in a similar position.
- Requirements: Bilingual in Japanese and English, with the ability to read, write, and speak; strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision; good mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and instrumentation.
