An established technology company in Colorado Springs is seeking a Project Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background to support the development, integration, and delivery of advanced imaging and electro-optical systems. This role blends hands‑on electrical engineering with project execution responsibilities, working closely with cross‑functional teams to bring complex hardware products from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities- Lead electrical engineering activities for new product development and system enhancements, including power distribution, signal integrity, and hardware interfaces.
- Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, optics, and systems engineers to define requirements, execute designs, and support system integration.
- Support hardware bring‑up, characterization, and environmental testing of imaging and sensor systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and system‑level issues through lab testing, analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, test plans, design reviews, and engineering reports.
- Coordinate technical tasks, schedules, and deliverables within assigned projects and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Support transition of designs into manufacturing, including design for manufacturability and testability activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 3-10 years of experience in electrical or electronics engineering roles.
- Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design, PCB development, and power electronics.
- Hands‑on experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with electro-optical systems, imaging hardware, or sensor electronics.
- Familiarity with product development in regulated or quality-controlled environments.
- Experience supporting hardware through prototype, qualification, and production phases.
- Background in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics development.
