The Project Engineer is a flexible resource capable of performing critical functions in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment, supporting a company who plays a vital role in our nations national defense. Primary responsibilities include; engineering, review and comprehension of customer requirements and deliverables, develop technical documentation, and 3D modeling and drawing creation. In this position, attention to detail is crucial.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Responsibilities

Increase manufacturing efficiency and performance through process development, process improvement, design work and proper utilization of machine capabilities - ORGANIZATION:
Improve the companies engineering capabilities by being a technical resource that is a capable of quickly and efficiently solving a wide variety of problems
What you will get to do
- Support and comply with Cogitic’s Quality Management System
- Utilize and gain proficiency in Pro Shop ERP software for daily tasks and projects
- Review, comprehend and communicate customer deliverables for multi-step projects
- Develop internal drawing packages from customer-provided documentation
- Develop technical documentation for internal and external customers which includes work instructions, technical information requests, technical justifications and similar documents
- Maintain project information in Pro Shop ERP
- Read, comprehend, and apply 2D and 3D drawings and models
- Create 2D and 3D drawings and models as project deliverables
- Design, develop and build hydrostatic test fixtures, welding fixtures and testing set-ups
- 3D solid modeling of customer designed components and assemblies
- Lead technical projects to support new company initiatives where the scope is not yet defined
- Perform hands on tasks in manufacturing to support on time shipment and development of processes and procedures
- Develop and manage the physical and digital tool crib system including the training of daily users
- Support the creation and operation of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) program
- Perform analysis of manufacturing activities to identify waste and implement continuous improvement
- Support Additive Manufacturing program
- Assemble complex multi-component assemblies
- Testing and related inspection of components and assemblies (hydrostatic, thermal shock, flow, acoustic, etc.)
- Coordinate sub-contracted physical testing activities (shock, vibration, underwater explosion, etc.)
Results
- Work product results in conforming parts that meet the schedule goals
- Gain expert level proficiency in Pro Shop ERP software
- Assigned tasks are completed on time or early
- All operational data (time estimates and actuals, work orders, instructions, and process development) responsible for is entered, stored, maintained and updated in ERP
- Effective collaboration and communication are demonstrated through daily interactions and task execution

Organizational Relationships
The Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and has support responsibilities to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Mission Assurance and Quality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Welding, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering - required
