By leveraging a broad range of engineering disciplines, EED supports a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges-from the initial stages of concept and architecture design to performance assessments and the application of space and space-enabled technologies.

The new hire w ill join the Space Planning, Readiness, and Operations ( SPRO ) Department team to provide operationally focused space solutions for warfighter and end user s in support of our Department of War ( Do W ), Intelligence Community (IC), and civil customers . We serve as the EED and ETG entry point for wargaming and exercises, space operations planning, and operationally- relevant support to connect corporate technical capabilities and operational requirements, integrate capabilities across the space enterprise, and educate the workforce on space operations and war fighting .

This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, CO , which requires 100% onsite work. What You'll Be Doing
* Providing C2 planning and course of action (COA) development expertise in accordance with current Joint Warfighting Concept, Adaptive Planning , and Joint Targeting processes .
* Advising customers on operationally focused technical and analytical approaches, systems engineering, and development of systems and capabilities.
* Reviewing requirements, models, and algorithms to develop integration architectures and recommend technical and operational needs for Ops Centers' processes.
* Design ing and advocat ing for optimized C2 constructs and data processes for US Space Command and US Space Force capabilities .
* Support ing rapid prototyping strategies aligned to the CSO priorities by providing technical, operational, and risk assessments .
* Work ing across space mission and program boundaries to identify common program challenges and risks, provide enterprise recommendations, and lead issues to closure .
* Serving as a C2 and/or space operations subject matter expert on multi-disciplinary teams .
* Serv ing as a key technical contributor on space prototype/system readiness review teams and provide impartial technical assessments to decision authorities .
* Solving the customers' hardest problems in the development, fielding, planning, integration, and operational employment of new space capabilities .
* Work ing closely and effectively with internal and external partners in integrated product teams that include government, industry, FFRDC members , and collaboration across Aerospace .
* Communicat ing effectively with customers and management through timely reporting of technical issues, analysis reports, and recommendations . What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Engineering Specialist
* Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in engineering, mathematics, technical science , or related experience applicable to the position .
* 8 or more years of increasing responsib ility and related career experience to include background as a space operator and/or planner .
* Experience in space-relevant command and control , operational planning , or battle management .
* Experience with operating or developing BMC2 systems .
