Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer
. This position supports the Sentinel program located in Colorado Springs, CO, Huntsville, AL, or Roy, UT
.

• The selected candidate will be responsible for participating in all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout).
• This role is highly visible with an executive presence and candidate must have an ability to work well with high level NG and government customers.
• The candidate must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic environment with competing priorities and possess the ability to support the team in an agile manner.
• The selected candidate will demonstrate technical skills, organization, be an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate.
• They will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the program as required to accomplish tasking.

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree.
• 2+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Principles.
• 2+ years of experience with Requirements Development.

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree.
• 3+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Principles.
• 3+ years of experience with Requirements Development.

• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
• 1+ years of experience with the Agile Approach.

• A general understanding of Engineering Board Processes.
• Experience leading projects/assignments.
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) or similar.
• ICBM experience.
• Proficiency/Expert with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Cost Account Management/Control Account Management Certification.
• Experience/Training in Earned Value Management.
• Comfortable briefing leadership and providing status both down and in and up and out.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
