Position: Software Engineer I with Security Clearance
Software Engineer I Entry Level | Schriever Space Force Base, CO | $60 - $75k | Secret with the ability to obtain TS/SC Build the software that powers missile defense simulations and warfighter training systems-developing modeling and simulation applications that support the U.S. Missile Defense mission. A Day in the Life - What you'll do
* Design, develop, test, document, and integrate software using object-oriented programming languages such as C++ and/or Java.
* Develop modeling and simulation software representing Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and missile defense capabilities.
* Work in a Linux development environment supporting simulation tools and mission applications.
* Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, integration, and deployment.
* Collaborate with engineering teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
* Support warfighter training simulations and mission analysis tools used in exercises and operational planning.
* Interface with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical support, and present technical briefings.
* Utilize the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) for task management, documentation, and version control.
* Support operational training events and testing activities, including travel up to 10%.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from an accredited university
* Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages such as C, C++, or Java
* Understanding of the software development lifecycle
* Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
* Experience with software development including analysis, design, coding, testing, and integration
* Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Bitbucket
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban

Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of missile defense systems
* Experience with infrared space surveillance systems (OPIR)
* Experience with modeling and simulation software development
