Job DetailsNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (level
3) / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (level
4) in support of the Sentinel program. The opening may be in Roy UT
, Huntsville AL
, Colorado Springs CO or Bellevue NE and will support the Sentinel Program.
Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production, and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to doThe Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.
Specific Duties- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large program designs.
- Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5 years of experience, 3 years of experience with master’s degree, 0 years of experience with PhD.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- 1+ years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool.
- 1+ year experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systems.
- 1+ year experience in team environments with leadership responsibilities.
- 1+ year experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8 years of experience, 6 years of experience with master’s degree, 4 years of experience with PhD.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- 2+ years of experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations.
- 2+ years of experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or Magic
DRAW. - 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following:
Command & Control (C2), physical security, cybersecurity, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development (e.g. Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2, B-21 delivery systems).
