Principal Specialist, Control Account Manager (CAM)
The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a Principal Specialist, Control Account Manager (CAM) to support various Systems Engineering and Long-Range Radars (SE LRR) programs. This position is based onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.
This role requires experience in financial project management, including the ability to perform detailed financial analyses, support Program Managers (PMs), Product Area Leads (PALs), and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and collaborate effectively across disciplines. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while helping ensure programs meet key cost and schedule objectives.
What You Will Do- Partner with the Program Management Office (PMO), PALs, and IPT Leads to support scope planning, report preparation, monthly financial/manpower deliverables, and annual planning requirements, ensuring adherence to Legal and Government Accounting requirements.
- Compile, analyze, and adjust financial data to ensure the plan, forecast, time charging, and manpower reporting align with technical plans.
- Define and understand monthly variances to Budget and Estimate at Complete (EAC) positions, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Ensure timely inputs and accurate Latest Revised Estimate (LRE) submissions.
- Generate clear and concise variance (VAR) analysis narratives.
- Support Risk and Opportunity management and assist with Management Reserve (MR) and Baseline Change Requests (BCRs).
- Partner with IPTs/PALs for initial scope baselining and related activities.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies across financial and schedule data sources.
- Conduct earned value data analysis, validate findings with engineering teams, present results to PMO, and support corrective action planning as needed.
- Collaborate with Planning, Finance, Supply Chain, and Engineering Leads in the procurement of equipment, materials, and parts.
- Apply CORE principles to drive process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with export control and intellectual property requirements.
- A University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
- Experience in data analysis, cost control, scheduling, proposal support, schedule analysis, and/or forecasting.
- Experience in project management and knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Ability to obtain RTX EVMS Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Experience managing small projects or processes.
- Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines while delivering high-quality work.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with MS Project.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
