Satellite Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze and validate satellite health and status information.
• Perform mission planning and scheduling.
• Provide on‑console support of real‑time commanding.
• Respond to and resolve anomalies.
• Develop an in‑depth understanding of satellite design and function.
• Provide training to customer personnel.
• Troubleshoot and test ground systems.
• Develop and maintain satellite operations automation systems.

Support is primarily during normal working hours but includes off‑hours work, and may involve travel to the squadron headquarters in Pt. Mugu, CA (less than 5%).

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
• 5 to 15 years of experience in Aerospace or related fields.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Knowledge of Satellite Command and Control Ground Systems.
• Ability to quickly identify and solve technical problems.
• Ability to plan and schedule operational activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Experience developing training plans and materials and effectively training technical professionals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Familiarity with Java, C, Python, and Perl.
