Senior Electrical Engineer – Mission Critical / Data Centers
An established engineering consultancy with a long-standing reputation in mission critical design is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the continued growth of its high-performance facilities practice.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the electrical design of technically complex projects including hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers. The position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, working directly with clients, and mentoring engineering teams.
The firm has a strong national presence in mission critical and complex infrastructure projects and provides dedicated project management and BIM support teams, allowing engineers to focus on technical delivery and client solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the technical lead for electrical engineering and design on mission critical projects including new data centers, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Design complex power systems including medium voltage distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, grounding, and critical power infrastructure.
- Develop electrical one-lines, specifications, calculations, studies, and power systems analysis.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated building systems.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD staff throughout project delivery.
- Interface directly with high-profile clients and support long‑term project relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong experience within the mission critical/data center sector.
- Experience with both renovation and greenfield projects preferred.
- Knowledge of power monitoring, lighting, and lighting controls systems is beneficial.
- Ability to travel occasionally as project needs require.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
