Field Service Engineer – Position, Navigation and Timing Program
Amentum is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our Position, Navigation and Timing Program. The role involves learning new technologies and performing in multiple roles related to these systems and the program overall. The selected member will travel from the Central Texas area to unit locations throughout the United States and on occasion to overseas locations to support technical tasks such as inspecting unit equipment, determining serviceability of Defense Advanced GPS Receivers, Dismounted and Mounted Position, Navigation and Timing equipment, and loading updated software and firmware.
The position is a government site within commuting distance of Fort Carson, Colorado, and the employee will work on Fort Carson 5days a week, 8hours a day.
- Respond to unit requirements for hardware and weapons/stores maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Screen inoperable components to verify or eliminate faults.
- Apply technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in fault isolation, identifying malfunction causes, and restoring equipment/system operations.
- Provide technical support to Army maintainers and operators to increase competency.
- Analyze designs, develop, implement, test, and evaluate major systems, components, and associated support systems.
- Review and prepare engineering, technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other documentation.
- Support engineering staff with system requirements analyses, design team input, and project engineering tasks.
- Support systems integration efforts, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition/resource management.
- Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, electronics, computer science, general engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 5years of project‑related experience, including 1year in development, test, and evaluation of major systems.
- Valid U.S. passport through 2025 or longer.
- Active Secret U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Experience with Army GPS.
- Experience integrating GPS into other C5
ISR systems.
$80–$85k (salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors such as responsibilities, experience, and market data).
