SATCOM Enterprise Operations Integration Specialist

K  is seeking a SATCOM Enterprise Operations Integration Specialist to join our team at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) in Colorado Springs, CO. K  is the prime contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract, providing state‑of‑the‑art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command and Mission Delta 8.

The role requires technical expertise in planning, scheduling, analysis, acquisition, operational concepts, requirements verification, site activation, and technology integration.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise in planning, scheduling, analysis, acquisition, operational concepts, requirements verification, site activation, technical documentation, and capability integration of SATCOM capabilities at SSFB.
  • Facilitate technical and programmatic liaison between operational units, stakeholders, contractors, SSC Program Offices, and HQ Combat Forces Command.
  • Develop, review, and contribute to capability integration, infrastructure, and life cycle documentation – including reports, briefings, Integration Plans, Operational Acceptance Plans, Initial Operational Capability Plans, Site Activation Plans, operational schedules, agreements, memoranda, RFP documentation, and Development Contractor Contract Data Requirements List documents.
  • Lead and manage capability integration processes, define requirements, integrate site activation activities, assess system modifications, manage workstation and equipment installations, evaluate program office transition readiness, monitor progress, identify deficiencies and risks, document lessons learned, and report status with recommendations.
  • Participate in integration planning forums and working groups – directorate forums, technical working groups, Facility Utilization groups and boards, Mission Protection boards, integration meetings, training requirement assessments, and technical design reviews.
  • Develop and maintain SATCOM integration schedules and related documentation.
  • Assess and develop facility infrastructure requirements, including power and cooling allocation data, site infrastructure communications, and modification, as part of site activation planning.
  • Create and manage electronic databases.
  • Travel approximately 5% of the time.
Required Skills
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years related experience in DoD systems acquisition life cycle management, transition, and operations.
  • Knowledge of Program Office and HQ Combat Forces Command process.
  • Experience in capability transition to operations, integration, and support (Operational Acceptance, Initial Operational Capability, site activation).
  • Ability to work autonomously with Government customer, lead teams and projects, and manage milestones and critical path activities.
  • Experience developing/reviewing life cycle management documentation (Transition Plans, Materiel Fielding Plans, Site Activation Plans, etc.).
  • Understanding of DoD and joint service acquisition instructions and policy.
  • Proficiency with the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (DoDI 5000 series).
  • Proficiency with Integrated Life Cycle Management (AFI 63-101/20-101).
  • Proficiency with system transition to operations and support.
  • Knowledge of 12 Integrated Product Support Elements.
  • Proficient with writing acquisition‑related technical documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to articulate guidance, planning concepts, ideas, recommendations, and options to customers, senior leaders, and stakeholders.
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical field.
  • Knowledge of SATCOM Satellite Operations, technical orders, and training.
  • Experience in SATCOM space operations.
  • Familiarity with HQ Combat Forces Command.
  • 10+ years related experience in DoD systems acquisition life cycle management, transition, or operations.
  • Professional certifications such as INCOSE CSEP or ESEP.
