GeneralRole Description
The primary duties of this position involve creating process design models, pipeline plans, and profile drawings for water and wastewater treatment facilities and pipelines. The role requires independent BIM modeling and Civil3D drafting assignments, coordinated with the Project Engineer or Project Manager to meet project deadlines while maintaining work/life balance.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop design and construction drawings under guidance from the Project Engineer or Project Manager.
- Perform routine CADD/BIM assignments using standardized electronic drafting techniques, including annotation, layer management, and overall drawing presentation.
- Create design drawings and develop initial engineering layouts for water, wastewater, stormwater conveyance systems, and site civil plans.
- Assemble plan sets and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines and reference files.
- Learn and apply project‑specific drafting standards to drawings.
- Work independently to perform redline revisions and develop design drawings from initial sketches.
- Perform basic quantity and geometry calculations.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to recognize issues and solve problems autonomously.
- Ability to communicate, coordinate, and prioritize workloads across several projects.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology/CAD or 2+ years of professional CAD experience with Auto Desk certification.
- Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Revit to create design drawings and details following CAD standards.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and Blue Beam Revu.
- Strong ability to follow written and oral instruction, tasking assignments, and documenting completion of tasks.
- Prior and extensive use of AutoCAD Civil3D, BIM, Revit, Navisworks and/or Autodesk Infrastructure.
- Experience developing alignments and profiles of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer utilities using AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Experience developing drawings and supporting design figures for water and wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations using Revit.
- Technically qualified with 3‑D design software and document management infrastructure.
- Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits essential.
- Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
