The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It supports the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battles, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems. The program enables optimized responses to threats across all ranges and flight phases, acting as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems to improve performance.

BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate missile defense capabilities.
As a member of the Systems Engineering & Verification (SE&V) Resource Management Area (RMA), this role supports the design and development of hardware and network products, hardware product selection, procurement support, and hardware approval processes for the C2
BMC program at both Regional and Global levels.
- Work directly with the HW Architect and BOM Manager, coordinating with the Architecture Review Board (ARB), the Hardware Site Engineering Control Board (HSECB), and engineering staff to support hardware and software selection, and maintain Bill of Material changes with Task Order Management and Customer Representatives.
- Support delivery of multiple CDRLs covering HW and SW reports and current design details.
- Prepare the BOM for proposal pricing and ongoing hardware and software evaluation to support EOS/EOL and evolution roadmap planning.

BMC Integrated Logistics Support Working Group (ILSWG).
- Current, active DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs.
- Either a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 5 years of experience; a Master’s degree (preferred) with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven track record of applying hardware architecture principles to system design and development.
- Experience working within integrated teams to develop hardware and infrastructure solutions using engineering processes and methods.
- Experience communicating desired capabilities to developers, engineers, subject‑matter experts, and users.
- Solid understanding of hardware and networking device selection, procurement processes, and hardware baseline approaches (HW/SW Baseline DB experience is a plus).
- Ability to support End‑of‑Sale/End‑of‑Life COA analysis.
- Experience with HW Architecture and ability to identify and define target hardware baseline and integration practices.
- Understanding of information assurance, maintenance, operations, and logistics concerns and their application to requirements, design, and development phases.
- Provide technical risk assessment for unsupported product configurations upon receiving vendor obsolescence notices (for HW and SW).
- COTS Product Supportability Assessments and formal trade studies.
- Familiarity with hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure, including private on‑prem cloud design.
- Experience in ballistic missile defense or air defense operations.
- Identify and define HW/SW baseline.
- Deep understanding of hardware and network device selection.
- Knowledge of procurement processes.
- Technology evolution planning.
- Experience with Agile processes and Scrum duties.
- Understanding of systems architecture and architectural models.
- Experience in systems architecture, hardware design, and hardware definition.
