Field Engineer - Construction

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Field Engineer to play a critical role in the successful execution of a large-scale construction project. This position serves as the operational link between field crews and Project Engineers, ensuring materials, sequencing, and installation readiness are aligned with project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track and manage materials from delivery through installation to ensure continuous installation readiness.
  • Coordinate directly with field crews to support installation sequencing and address engineering or constructability discrepancies.
  • Resolve material issues, including missing, damaged, or incorrect items, by coordinating technical replacements with vendors and engineers.
  • Provide daily and weekly reporting, including material status updates, look-ahead forecasts, and budgetary results.
  • Ensure all activities comply with site safety requirements and safe material handling procedures.
  • Act as the primary liaison between on-site field teams and Project Engineers, ensuring rapid resolution of installation challenges and deficiencies as the project progresses.
  • Support project documentation, material tracking, and field coordination activities to help keep the project on schedule.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering field; OR 1-3 years of experience in field engineering, project coordination, construction management, or a related role.
  • Strong foundation in project management and construction management principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple material and work streams simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and freight carriers to schedule and manage jobsite deliveries.
  • Ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, and installation schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in an active construction environment.
Preferred Attributes
  • Internship, co-op, or professional experience supporting construction, manufacturing, industrial, or engineering projects.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solver who can make sound decisions in the field.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineers, field crews, and project leadership.
  • Safety-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with material management, logistics, or project controls is a plus.
