K  has an opportunity for a Space Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on support for systems engineering activities and protection of space systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Directly contribute to government's mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action.

* Assist in planning and oversight of the government's systems engineering efforts.
* Support space protection and mission integration as directed by the government.

* Review documentation, represent government interests in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts. Work Environment:

* Working Hours:

Standard Basic Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 USD annually The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity. QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

* US Citizenship

* Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

* Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and three (3) years or more experience, Masters in STEM or relevant field, and one (1) year or more experience.

* Experience in systems engineering processes (e.g. SE lifecycle, risk management, change management, etc.).

* Strong understanding of integrating Government capabilities into operations baseline.

* Expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics; succinctly captures issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.

* Ability to work independently and with a team, operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.

* Self-starter, anticipates and proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision, ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.

* Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.

* Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder. QUALIFICATIONS Desired:
* Working knowledge of joint operations planning processes.

* Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator

* Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, cloud technologies

* Experience with Jira, Confluence

* Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.

* Knowledge of space protection topics related to satellite operations (e.g. launch, communications, navigation, maneuvers, etc.), threat/risk assessments, vulnerability analysis.
