- Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, be responsible for laser and mechanical process development (from proof-of-concept prototypes to sustained manufacturing validation)
- Plan and coordinate engineering activities, studies, and programs in support of standard production and new product development.
- Handle process implementation for applications such as laser cutting, laser welding, and deburring small medical components.
- Be responsible for laser cutting and welding process development, including motion programming, optical alignment, parameter development and optimization, troubleshooting.
- Generate documentation for process implementation including Operating procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, manufacturing software, etc.
- Support and provide equipment guidelines and tooling modifications for process improvements.
- Generate models/drawings to support process development.
- Support company-wide and internal cost-improvement projects, specifically for the laser processing group.
- Follow health, safety and environmental programs for preventative maintenance - adhering to safety protocols and ensuring that all hazards are properly managed.
- BS degree in mechanical engineering/physics or other relevant engineering discipline required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in process development and/or laser processing.
- Medical device manufacturing experience a plus.
- Are passionate working with integrated, complex technologies and machines.
- Are experienced with CAM programming and development.
- Have laser processing experience.
- Have a strong background in Solid Works.
- Possess strong communication skills - both written and oral.
