D2 Demo & Dirt + Utilities and Rapido Rolloff are seeking a hands-on Director of Finance
and Accounting to lead accounting and financial operations across two vertically integrated construction-services companies in Southern Colorado.
This role blends Controller-level execution with CFO-level leadership
—ideal for a construction finance professional who wants ownership of the numbers, a seat at the leadership table, and the opportunity for equity interest.
The Director of Finance is the senior financial leader responsible for accurate books, disciplined cash management, payroll execution, and financial decision support across both D2 Demo & Dirt + Utilities and Rapido Rolloff.
The role is accountable for financial accuracy, compliance, and visibility, while partnering with ownership to support growth, profitability, and long-term value creation.
- Month-end close, financial statements, and internal controls
- Job costing, WIP schedules, and margin reporting
- Cash flow planning, forecasting, and working capital
- Banking, bonding, and lender relationships
- Equipment, depreciation, and capital planning
- End-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees
, including certified payroll reporting. - Payroll tax filings, garnishments, deductions, and compliance coordination
- Oversee HR Benefits including employee handbook and annual benefits negotiations
- Financial insight to support pricing, bids, and growth decisions
- Ensure timely and accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and account reviews
- Maintain strong internal controls and documentation
- Coordinate with external CPA firm for tax filings, reviews, and audits
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and equipment tracking
- 5-7+ years in accounting/finance
- 5+ year’s experience with Quickbooks Online
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
- Familiar with Construction industry preferred
- Proven experience running in-house payroll
- Strong job-cost and percentage-of-completion knowledge
- Comfortable in a hands-on, owner-operated environment
- Proficient in Financial Planning and creating budgets
- Advance knowledge of MS Excel skills required
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, cost accounting, standards, laws and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Annual Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary based on net income, cash flow, margins, and reporting accuracy
