Job SummaryThe Behavioral Health RN works within an interdisciplinary team to deliver inpatient, home, and community-based medical and mental health treatment. Focus areas include psychiatric crisis management, behavioral interventions, medication management, and collaboration with Crisis Services, Emergency Rooms, and community providers.
Essential Functions- Conduct comprehensive nursing, psychiatric, and behavioral assessments; monitor behavioral trends and mental status.
- Perform vital signs, lab collections, EKGs, medication reconciliation, and coordinate admissions and discharges under protocol.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct client care, including hygiene support, CPR/First Aid, and nursing interventions under prescriber orders.
- Administer and monitor psychotropic medications, manage orders, side effect monitoring, and educate clients and families on medication use.
- Deliver crisis intervention and behavioral management using CPI and de‑escalation techniques; respond to escalated behaviors and potential restraint/seclusion events.
- Implement safety planning and risk reduction strategies to maintain client and staff safety.
- Participate in rounds, staffing, and inter-team communications; collaborate with internal and external providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate medical, legal, and billing documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Support quality improvement initiatives through documentation review and team collaboration.
- Current RN license in good standing in Colorado.
- Experience working with behaviorally challenging or crisis populations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of CPI, de‑escalation techniques, and trauma‑informed care.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records with accurate and timely documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity environment.

- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform patient care tasks for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
