Guest Services, Front Desk/Receptionist, Hotel Front Desk
Position Purpose & Summary
Reporting to the Director of Front Office, the Valet/Bell person will be the first impression for all guests and members, extending a warm welcome as they assist guests with valeting vehicles, luggage, shuttle services and touring during arrival and departure, while also answering general inquiries about the property.
Essential Functions- Open front doors for all arriving and departing individuals and greet appropriately.
- Assist guests with luggage and familiarize them with their room and the resort.
- Work as a shuttle driver when scheduled or as needed.
- Provide directions to in‑house guests and members.
- Deliver all messages, packages and amenities promptly and accurately.
- Maintain an orderly and clean luggage storage room, lobby and front entrance.
- Remain in the lobby, ready to assist guests and co‑workers at any time with any requests or concerns.
- Acquire all necessary arrival and departure information from the front desk.
- Safely park guests and members’ cars and ensure key security standards are followed.
- Communicate arrival, departure, venue and hotel information to guests and members.
- Be knowledgeable in hotel and guest room facilities/services.
- Give recommendations of local dining and activities as requested.
- Assist front desk in taking reservations for hotel outlets and services.
- Review arrival report daily.
- Maintain proper telephone manners at all times, treating every guest with courtesy and respect and addressing them by name.
- Assist with service recovery as needed to ensure that guest issues are resolved before the guest leaves the property.
- Maintain a calm and professional disposition in a challenging or fast‑paced environment.
- Adapt well to change.
- Deliver “I Am Proud” service standards and department‑specific signature touch points.
- Establish cross‑departmental communication channels that are consistent and complete.
- Greet every guest, member and team member with “I Am Proud” standards and set a positive tone for every interaction.

- Minimum Knowledge & Skills – Requires basic employment skills in clerical, service or manual areas.
- Formal Education and Job‑Related Experience – Minimum formal education of a high school diploma. Some experience with valet or bell duties, while not required, would be beneficial.
- License, Registration, and/or Certification Required – Valid Driver’s License.

- Daily – Communicate with Front Desk Agents, Concierge, Valet, Sales and Catering, and Housekeeping regarding reservation needs.
- Weekly – Communicate with Concierge, Front Office and Sales Departments to ensure upcoming reservation needs are communicated.
- Occasionally – Participate in one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
Teamwork and Collaboration – This position requires continuous teamwork as well as internal and cross‑departmental communication.
Physical DemandsThe role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, and lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. The employee may work inside and outside the property, possibly in inclement weather, and may occasionally be required to work on uneven surfaces or in areas with chemicals, detergents or cleaners. Tasks require good hand‑eye coordination and use of motor skills.
Environmental FactorsWork is performed in an indoor setting with overhead lighting and comfortable ventilation. Employees may also work outdoors and be exposed to variable temperatures, wind, wet or sloped conditions. The role may involve exposure to noise, vibrations or chemicals and may require the use of motorized equipment or vehicles.
