Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer - Jr Cyber Tools & Patching Architect (26-039) to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, monitor the battle collectively, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals.

BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2
BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate current and future missile defense system capabilities. Operate under the general guidance of the Cybersecurity Chief Architect to develop and implement Cyber Capabilities that enhance the cybersecurity posture across Development Labs and Operational Systems. Improve the program's ability to meet customer expectations and focus more on endpoint product compliance in the operational environment.
Collaborate closely with the C2
BMC National Team (NT) Agile Release Train (ARTs) to implement system hardening, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and threat countermeasures.
Essential Functions:
* Design and implement a variety of cybersecurity tools, including security information and event monitoring (SIEM), data loss prevention (DLP), intrusion detection system (IDS), vulnerability scanning, endpoint security, and others, to support enterprise modernization
* Work closely with the Modeling Team to integrate cybersecurity requirements into a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model for the program
* Strong cybersecurity analysis background to include knowledge of the following:
* Identity and access management methodologies
* Vulnerability management
* Compliance management
* Database
* Enterprise information security infrastructure
* Experience evaluating and validating cybersecurity requirements
* Knowledge of cybersecurity systems engineering principles
* Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol [TCP/IP], Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol [DHCP]) and directory services (e.g., Domain Name System [DNS])
* Knowledge of applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and hardening operating systems and applications
* Experience in cyber threat assessment and risk management for a mission system
