Harris Technologies is seeking a motivated and experienced Database Engineer to join our dynamic ATLAS systems team for Space Domain projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to mission-critical applications. You will be part of a highly skilled engineering team dedicated to delivering innovative features, software upgrades, and system integrations that meet customer and mission-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team using Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) supporting the delivery of high-quality software solutions for government systems.
- Strong command of SQL and experience administering and developing relational databases (e.g., Postgre
SQL) as well as No
SQL databases (e.g., Mongo
DB). - Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
- Optimize database performance and conduct system tuning.
- Diagnose and resolve database errors and performance issues.
- Provide on-site support and monitoring for classified systems, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Offer 24/7 on-call support to address urgent issues.
- Develop, upgrade, and troubleshoot mission-specific database updates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Secret or Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline and minimum 6-9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4-7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 11-13 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling.
- Experience in Agile Software Development processes and methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban.
- MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred.
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Extensive experience with database technologies (e.g., Postgre
SQL, Oracle). - Experience in maintaining production-level systems.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
- DoD 8570 compliant, CompTIA Security+ certification.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado and New York State is $117,000 - $218,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
