Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is bidding on a high-level government satellite communications support program and recruiting for a Database Administration SME who will provide overall database administration with assuring 24/7/365 immediate, on-call support for WSOMS sites.
Apply expert knowledge to ensure database integrity and reproductions and verify contents of the databases are consistent among the different systems.
Performance location is Colorado Springs, CO. All positions concerning this effort are contingent upon contract award.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Ensure each database is performing properly and is available to WSOMSNET customers.
- Maintain database availability at or better than 99.5% (excluding government‑approved maintenance windows).
- Monitor database space and Central Processing Unit (CPU) resource allocation.
- Ensure the backup process minimizes performance impact on production systems during backup operations. (Monitor system performance during backup windows).
- Backups are stored securely, following best practices for data protection and access control. (Encrypt backups, use secure storage locations, and restrict access to authorized personnel).
- Coordinate with WSOMSNET system owner (PdM WESS) to ensure proper backup of database files.
Minimum Requirements
6‑8 years database management experience in large or mission‑critical environments, high volume transaction systems or multi‑tenant architecture.
ExperienceExpert in network architecture and design; experience designing, configuring and optimizing LAN/WAN architectures; implementing high‑availability and failover solutions.
EducationBachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
CertificationsCertifications in Oracle, SQL or Postgre
SQL (Postgre
SQL is the current database format used for WSOMS).
Certifications per DoDD 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Management.
Clearance and CitizenshipTop Secret. US Citizenship required.

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,500 to $149,500 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
