Overview

The Digital Hardware Engineer III executes moderate complexity design projects, defines basic concepts for engineering problems. They also lead internal and external technical moderate complexity projects, measure and adapt project scope, and implement action plans to improve project performance.

Responsibilities



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop hardware designs for Space grade and High Reliably modules. This includes component selection, schematic capture, creation of design constraints and oversight of the layout process.
  • Lead initial hardware bring up and testing to ensure hardware performance meets requirements and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve hardware issues during development and post-production.
  • Work with software teams, firmware teams, manufacturing teams, and other engineers to integrate hardware and software solutions.
  • Create detailed documentation for designs, testing procedures, and other relevant information.
  • Optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Electrical (Bachelor's degree) or Computer Engineering (Bachelor's degree)
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline.
    • (9) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
    • (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree.
  • Applicable experience in lieu of a Degree may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Design experience with ARM or Intel based microprocessors.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture with Siemens DXDesigner or Altium Designer
  • Experience with the design, constraint and integration of high-speed interfaces. (e.g., PCIe Gen 3/4, 10 GbE, 40 GbE, 100 GbE, DDR4).
  • High current/low voltage switching power supply experience
  • Experience collaborating with embedded software and firmware engineers to ensure seamless product verification and successful integration of hardware with FPGA and software functionality.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Hyperlynx SI/PI
  • Experience in Rad hard or high reliability design

  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
