Responsibilities
As a Tier 2 Network Administrator, you'll be challenged with enterprise support problems where you will coordinate with the Network Operations Center and other Operational staff to address break fix, configuration update, schedule add moves and changes and technology upgrades and installs for Network routers and switches. You are expected as one of experienced Network team members to coordinate ticket acceptance and resolutions.
You will support the development of technical resolution reports for critical outages in the Network. In this role the Network Administrator will be responsible for:
- Conduct approved network changesto include but not limited toVLan, ACL and port assignment.
- Perform IOS upgrades to routers and switches.
- Perform routing and switching equipment technology upgrades to ensurecontinuedoperations of the enterprise.
- Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) fornetworkoperations.
- Resolve systems failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services.
- Support site survey and engineering designs data calls.
- Support new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.
- Works independently withsomesupervision.
- In remote locations must function as independent engineering, maintenance, and network problem solving with minimal or intermittent input from other Tiers/locations.
- Problems faced are difficult, will require detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand problems.
You will employ creativity and ingenuity for new technical solutions applicable across the enterprise, drawing heavily on prior experience. - Perform Network ticket resolution.

Operations staff toinclude: - Use administrative access to the network to provision new switches, routers, and Cryptographicdevices.
- Uses administrative access to network components to research errors, incidents, problems and to perform incident analysis andidentifypotential problems.
- Routing Service Requests to the appropriate organizationrequiredfor incident resolution.
- Performs root cause analyses.
- Completes problem resolutions associated with incident ticket(s)
- Review and implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
- A Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience OR a PhD with 1+ years of experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement
- Experience with various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRF, MPLS, or 802.1x)
- Experience with Cisco-ISE
- Knowledge of KG-175 Series TACLANES configuration process, fault isolation, and firmware upgrade procedures
- Familiarity Cisco and Juniper network devices
- Active IAT Level II Certification
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
