Database Administrator
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain SQL Server database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
- Administer and maintain database operational status and performance monitoring.
- Administer and maintain database replication monitoring and fault correction.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal throughput and responsiveness.
- Perform database design, data modeling, and schema management to support application requirements and performance goals.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
- Conduct database capacity planning and forecasting to accommodate future growth and changing business requirements.
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for improved performance.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in the related field.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- U.S. Citizen (no dual citizenship).
- On-site at a government facility in Colorado Springs, CO; five days per week.
- Resident within commutable distance.
- Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs.
