Salary Range: $62,540.00 – $75,000.00 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from FLSA overtime provisions.

The IDEA Senior Data Analyst is a technical expert and strategic analyst within IDEA, responsible for advanced dashboard design, data analytics, and institutional data governance initiatives. The incumbent leads complex data projects and partners with campus leaders to transform data into actionable insight supporting student success, resource planning, and institutional effectiveness. Reporting to the Director of IDEA, the Senior Data Analyst provides mentorship to analysts and helps shape a data‑informed culture at UCCS through consultation, documentation, and collaboration.
EssentialFunctions
- Data Validation (25%) – Assesses the quality and accuracy of data used by IDEA, identifies root causes of inconsistencies, collaborates with campus data stewards, and documents findings to ensure alignment with data governance policies.
- Query Building (20%) – Creates and refines queries to retrieve accurate information from various data sources (e.g., People Soft/Campus Solutions, CU Central Information Warehouse, Slate, Qualtrics).
- Report Generation and Data Visualizations (45%) – Builds and maintains robust, scalable reports and dashboards for data‑informed decision‑making at all institutional levels, collaborating with stakeholders in Student Success, Academic Affairs, and Administration and Finance.
- Mentoring and Training (10%) – Mentors junior analysts and provides training or guidance on best practices for data analysis and visualization within IDEA or for campus data users.
