The Opportunity

You will use your cyber engineering skills to lead the design and development of secure systems for Space Mission Systems. We’re looking for a Cyber Engineer who can create solutions for US Space Force that will withstand even the most advanced cyber threats.

Space Systems Security Engineer
As a Lead Cyber Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll lead teams that design systems that manage risk to Space Mission Operations. You’ll coordinate work with development teams to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s IT needs and goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. You will help your team develop the best solutions, so you’ll advise on new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going.
You’ll guide the team through managing risk by providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and mission needs.
- 8+ years of experience supporting cyber risk management on space mission systems through systems engineering and design
- 5+ years of experience working with space transport networks
- 4+ years of experience leading teams to evaluate and prioritize cyber threats to inform space mission owners on design and engineering decisions
- Ability to communicate cyber risks in terms of engineering and programmatic risk
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity
- DoD 8140 Intermediate Certification such as Security+, CCSP, or GSEC Certification
- 10+ years of experience supporting cyber risk management on space mission systems through systems engineering and design
- 4+ years of experience in executing process improvement
- Knowledge of DoD cyber risk management processes such as Risk Management Framework or Cybersecurity Framework
- Ability to manage team activities using technology including Jira, Confluence, and MS Teams
- Masters's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity
- DoD 8140 Advanced Certification such as CISSP, GDSA, or CCNP
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
CompensationFull-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements.
