Position Title: Database Administrator
Location: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado

Shift & TravelShift: Shift work could be required to support 24×7 operations on a modified Panama schedule. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
Travel: Up to 10% of the time.
Our NORAD Operations GroupThe Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).
- Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
- Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
- Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
- Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
- Software development and integration.
NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:
- Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
- Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
- Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
- Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
- Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world
- Provide database administration support for all DRSN systems, including Secure Voice Responsible (SVRO) and Telephone Control Officer (TCO) additional duties.
- Generate accounts, control access, perform update/change management, and administer databases for the environment through installation, replacement, and configuration for testing, while documenting incidents.
- Develop and implement system documentation and operating procedures.
- Identify and correct processing anomalies.
- Coordinate and administer the test and installation of network connections.
- Configure and debug network equipment.
- Research the selection and installation of new computer equipment, including hardware and software.
- Perform and provide server, workstation, and system expertise, including on‑site and off‑site travel.
- Oversee the order and replacement of new hardware and software, including warranty claims.
- Implement functions for data and documentation management of systems.
- Provide support to monitor, install, and perform maintenance on DRSN, software, networks, and equipment applicable to the DRSN.
- Respond to DRSN system user requests for assistance.
- Perform on‑the‑spot diagnostic evaluations, implement corrections, and train users in proper operations of DRSN systems/programs.
- Provide support for approved DRSN software, perform upgrades to all computer platforms, train staff, and maintain daily logs.
- Support 24/7 maintenance, modification, and installation of the secure Defense Red Switch Network, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV‑7M), and instruments (IST, STE, and STU‑III).
- Provide DRSN initial and recurring training for all users.
- Update the equipment database to keep inventory current.
- Ensure the REMEDY ticketing system is kept up to date on DRSN trouble tickets for problem/resolution to exceed customer repair requirements.
- TS with SCI eligibility is required to apply.
- 2 years or more of directly related experience.
- 5 years or more of general work experience.
- Work shifts in support of 24×7 operations.
- Ability to report to work and remain on site for extended periods during emergencies and drills.
- Experience or knowledge as a System Administrator/DBA.
- Experience with telephone maintenance.
- DSS‑2A Certification is required.
- Must meet the DoD 8570 IAT II certification eligibility requirements (e.g., Security+ CE).
- Work independently and make decisions requiring personal judgment.
