Mid-Level Platform Systems Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Mid-Level Platform Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA) organization within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the IRES contract. This individual will support the design, engineering, and sustainment of enterprise platforms that enable advanced sensing and space-based missile defense capabilities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong systems engineering experience, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a mission-critical environment.

Required

Skills & Experience:

• Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience (may be reduced with completion of advanced education)
• 3+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, systems architecture, or a related technical role within a DoD or commercial enterprise environment.
• Understanding of requirements analysis and requirements management principles.
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering V-Model methodologies and the engineering lifecycl
• Must be able obtain an active DoW Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility

  Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Linux administration, management, and sustainment.
• Prior experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations.
• Experience developing and maintaining DoDAF architectures or equivalent architecture frameworks.
• Ability to decompose complex mission systems into manageable technical components.
• Experience developing detailed implementation and deployment plans for new systems and capabilities.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills related to enterprise IT systems.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Red Hat Open Shift, or similar platforms.
• Experience using SysML and MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Relevant industry certifications such as INCOSE ASEP, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

• Support the design, development, and implementation of platform solutions that enhance the efficiency, security, and sustainability of MDSEA frameworks.
• Conduct technical studies and analyses to define system requirements and develop platform architectures for enterprise services, satellite ground systems, operations centers, and supporting facilities.
• Participate in all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, architecture development, implementation planning, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Develop technical documentation, implementation plans, and test procedures to support successful deployment and long-term operations.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity teams, network engineers, system administrators, testers, and project managers to ensure successful integration and compliance with program standards.
• Support project planning activities by assisting with task definition, scheduling, risk identification, and milestone execution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system performance, reliability, and mission effectiveness.

This position is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Salary Range between $100,000 - $135,000 based on qualifications and years of experience.
