The C2
BMC Next Program, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer with a Top Secret security clearance to join our team. This role will serve as a critical part of the C2
BMC Program, contributing to the planning, deployment, integration, and testing of upgrades to the C2
BMC network at operational sites. As a Network Development Engineer, the candidate will support buildouts and deployments in operational environments and work collaboratively within an agile scrum team to meet customer requirements and program objectives.
- Serve as a primary Network Engineer supporting the C2
BMC Program. - Plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the C2
BMC network at operational sites. - Travel to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, independently troubleshoot issues, and provide status updates to program personnel.
- Perform deployment activities at alternate work locations, such as Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, Europe, and other sites as necessary.
- Apply expertise in UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs to resolve complex challenges.
- Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and stakeholders, using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Visio to present information clearly and effectively.
- Thrive in a collaborative and agile environment, contributing to the success of the team and the program.
- Develop expertise with a variety of technologies, including multi-vendor switching, routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimization, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
- Enhance your communication and presentation skills using Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Strong knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies.
- Comprehensive understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Proficiency in network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with firewalls, including Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
- Knowledge of UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, and TCP/IP network designs.
- Active 8140 Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+).
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top-Secret clearance is required prior to the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Previous experience with command-and-control system application development, including message translation software.
- Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching and routing technologies, including Juniper, Cisco, WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
- Expertise in Agile Methodology, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and program leadership to achieve project objectives.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking progress.
- Demonstrated skills in risk management, including identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success.
