Position OverviewWe are seeking a Junior Security / Logistics Specialist to support inventory management, distribution, storage, accountability, and secure handling of high-sensitivity equipment and spare components within a Red LAN environment at Schriever Space Force Base.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with controlled equipment and serialized assets. This position will play an important role in maintaining accurate property records, ensuring secure movement of equipment, and supporting day-to-day logistics and security operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the inventory, distribution, storage, and secure handling of high-sensitivity IT equipment, components, and spares.
- Receive, inspect, document, store, and issue equipment and materials in accordance with established security and logistics procedures.
- Maintain accurate serialized equipment inventories, ensuring all assets are properly tracked throughout their lifecycle.
- Apply and maintain appropriate property identification and asset tags in accordance with program and government requirements.
- Ensure secure movement, transfer, and transportation of sensitive equipment and materials.
- Prepare equipment and materials for shipment, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, documentation, and chain-of-custody requirements are met.
- Verify shipment contents against applicable inventory records, work orders, shipping documentation, and authorization requirements.
- Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories to validate asset records and identify discrepancies.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory variances, documenting discrepancies and coordinating corrective actions as required.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, inventory databases, property documentation, and supporting reports.
- Support audits, inspections, inventory reconciliations, and property accountability activities.
- Coordinate with security, systems engineering, operations, and program personnel to ensure equipment is available when needed while maintaining appropriate security controls.
- Identify inventory, storage, or logistics issues and elevate potential security or accountability concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Support the development and improvement of logistics procedures, inventory controls, and asset management processes.
- Ensure work areas, storage locations, and equipment are maintained in an orderly and secure condition.
- Perform other logistics and security support duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant technical training preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, inventory management, warehouse operations, property management, security, or a related field.
- Must have and maintain an active DoD TS/SCI clearance
- Experience maintaining inventory records and tracking serialized equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain documentation and databases.
- Ability to follow established security, handling, storage, and transportation procedures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform physical inventory activities and handle IT equipment and materials as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical, logistics, security, and government personnel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, or U.S. Space Force programs.
- Experience working at or supporting operations on a military installation.
- Familiarity with government property accountability and serialized asset management.
- Experience with IUID practices, asset tagging, and property tracking systems.
- Experience supporting classified, controlled, or high-sensitivity IT environments.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures for sensitive or mission-critical equipment.
- Experience performing cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
- Familiarity with chain-of-custody procedures and secure transportation requirements.
- Experience with inventory management systems, databases, spreadsheets, or property management tools.
