Leidos’ Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift to join our team at our Colorado Springs, CO location.
The ideal candidate will need to have experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.
Primary Responsibilities- Must be capable of reading engineering drawings
- Operation of CNC lathes (primarily), provide backup operations on CNC mills and other manual equipment.
- You will be expected to set up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision finished goods within print tolerance specification.
- Use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks.
- Experience in the manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials is a plus. 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience.
- Applicants must be able to work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced environment with little or no assistance
- Performs other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary.
- High School diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
- Intermediate knowledge of shop math skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as understand basic work instructions for product fabrication
- General knowledge, skills, and understanding with hand and power tools to include, deburring tools, wrenches, etc.
- Proficiency with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment (micrometers, calipers, electronic height gauges, etc.)
- Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
- Candidates must be able to work overtime when required.
- Candidate must be willing to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6AM-6PM.
- US Citizenship requirement and clearance requirement
- Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic PC skills for data entry, timecard and production time entries
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $
