CNC Machinist

Job Summary The CNC Machinist position that builds on foundational CNC machining skills. This role involves performing complex setups, troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality production standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in advanced machining operations and a strong problem-solving ability.

Essential FunctionsCNC Machine Operationso Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications and blueprints.o Set up and operate manual and machines such as mills, lathes, and drill presses and band saw.o Conduct routine quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.o Set up machines per set up sheets and tool lists.o Read and interpret blueprints and drawingso Assist in developing machine processes to improve efficiency and qualityo Mentor and assist CNC Machinist I team members in developing their skills

Quality Control & Troubleshootingo Perform first-article inspections and routine quality checks using precision measuring tools (e.g.,calipers, micrometers, gauges).o Troubleshoot machining problems, making adjustments as necessary to maintain part accuracy

Equipment Maintenance & Safetyo Conduct routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure operational efficiency.o Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.o Maintain a clean and organized workstation.

Reporting and Communicationo Report issues with equipment or production to supervisors promptly.o Communicate with engineers, supervisors, and production teams to ensure machining processes meet company standards.o Document production activities, material usage, and quality inspections accurately.

Qualifications

Education and Experience o High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.o 2-4 years of experience operating CNC machineo Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments.

Skills and Competencieso Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitudeo Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.o Ability to work efficiently in a team environment, mentor and provide guidance to juniormachinists.

Work Environmento This role involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production noise.o Physical tasks include standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, and performing repetitive motions for extended periods.

Scheduleo Full-time position with standard shift hours; overtime may be required based on production demands.

Compensationo Hourly Rate: $22.00-$30.00/hr.o Benefits include shared-cost health care, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match after a waiting period.
