Role DescriptionThis is a flexible role based in Colorado Springs, CO, with remote or hybrid options available. We are seeking a highly experienced Grant Writer & Sponsorship Strategist to lead all aspects of grant development and funding growth.
The Grant Writer and Sponsorship Specialist will be responsible for managing the full grant lifecycle — from identifying funding opportunities and conducting prospect research to drafting compelling proposals and overseeing post‑award compliance and reporting.
This role also includes developing and securing corporate sponsor ships and cultivating funding partnerships aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
Key responsibilities include:- Identifying and researching private, corporate, and foundation grant opportunities
- Developing and maintaining a structured grant pipeline
- Writing and submitting high‑quality, persuasive grant proposals
- Managing reporting, compliance, and grant administration requirements
- Building and nurturing relationships with funders and sponsors
- Assisting in sponsorship package development and partnership strategy
- Tracking funding metrics, deadlines, and outcomes
- Collaborating with leadership to align funding strategy with organizational growth goals
Contract-Based Role (5‑10% commission of grants and sponsor ships awarded, structured in accordance with nonprofit best practices)
Qualifications- Demonstrated portfolio of successful grant proposals (redacted samples acceptable)
- Proven record of grants awarded (please include funding amounts and funder types)
- Experience securing corporate sponsor ships or strategic funding partnerships
- Expertise in Grant Writing and Proposal Development
- Experience in Grant Administration and compliance management
- Strong Prospect Research skills to identify aligned funding opportunities
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising practices and revenue strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple submissions simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred
- Experience in healthcare, disability advocacy, or nonprofit development strongly preferred
