Operating Room Nurse, RN Nurse, Surgical Assistant
Registered Nurse travel position in the operating room for a 13‑week assignment in Colorado Springs, Colorado. You’ll provide perioperative nursing care for cardiac and thoracic procedures, collaborate with surgical teams, and maintain a sterile field. Key Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic procedures in the CVOR suite.
Assist in the preparation and management of open heart, TAVR, endovascular, and thoracic surgeries, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and clinical standards.
Operate EPIC charting system efficiently, documenting patient care, procedures, and intraoperative events accurately and promptly.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to execute surgical procedures seamlessly and address intraoperative needs.
Maintain sterile field and scrub into the OR as needed, supporting the surgical team during complex cardiac and thoracic cases.
Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado or ability to obtain one
BLS certification (AHA)
Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience
Ability to work 36 hours per week
Strong clinical skills
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility to float within hospital zones
Skills:
ACLS certification (preferred)
Epic charting system certification (preferred)
