Travel Nurse RN – Labor & Delivery

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (ZIP 80901)

Agency: Magnet Medical

Pay: $2,506 per week

Shift: Nights – 3 days x 12 hours

Contract: 13 weeks

Start Date: 8/10/2026

About the Position

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is responsible for comprehensive care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum. The RN manages routine and high‑risk pregnancies, monitors fetal and maternal wellbeing, and assists with deliveries. Collaboration with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other professionals provides safe, compassionate, and effective care to mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre‑Labor and Admission Assessment: Assess and monitor pregnant women, collect health histories, vital signs, perform NSTs and monitor uterine activity.
  • Labor Support and Monitoring: Monitor labor progress, administer medications, provide emotional and pain support, assist with amniotomy and other procedures.
  • Assisting with Delivery: Assist obstetricians or midwives, provide instrumentation assistance, support cesarean procedures, perform neonatal resuscitation, monitor mother‑newborn recovery, and support breastfeeding.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient progress in the EHR.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the healthcare team to plan individualized care and communicate progress to patients and families.
  • Infection Control and Safety: Follow infection control procedures and ensure equipment sterilization and functionality.
  • Emergency and High‑Risk Situations: Recognize complications, initiate interventions, respond to obstetric emergencies, and manage high‑risk pregnancies.
  • Patient Education and Advocacy: Provide education on labor options, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and advocate for patient preferences.
