Role Overview
Provides direct patient care in a high-acuity obstetric and neonatal environment, utilizing the nursing process within a multidisciplinary team. Focuses on delivering evidence-based, safe, and compassionate care in units such as Mother/Baby, Labor and Delivery, Women's Care, and NICU.
ResponsibilitiesImplements top-of-scope nursing practices, prioritizes patient wellness, models proficiency through precepting new staff, and contributes to safety and quality at the point of care. Supports ongoing education and adherence to practice standards like AWHONN and AACN.
Qualifications & SkillsGraduate of an accredited nursing program, with a Bachelor's Degree within three years of assuming the role. Requires at least one year of nursing experience, current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and C-EFM certification within one year. Strong clinical skills, teamwork, and commitment to evidence-based practice are essential.
Key DutiesProviding safe, effective patient care, supporting staff education, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
