AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation group in Denver, CO. The successful candidate will work under the oversight of an experienced team of engineers and scientists on environmental site assessments, remedial and solid waste design and construction, and environmental support on multi-disciplinary projects. This position involves field and office responsibilities with potential for growth.
Responsibilities- Perform standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
- Detect problems using standardized procedures and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Conduct specific phases of projects under guidance of experienced scientists.
- Propose appropriate analytical methods and provide consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
- Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analysis.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Be flexible with extended hours and locations; travel may exceed 50% of time.
- Perform regional day travel as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or related fields.
- Two (2+) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Subject to pre-employment background check.
- Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for some sites.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors under challenging conditions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
- Ability to learn and master new tasks rapidly.
- Scientific research and report writing experience (including web‑based research).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong quality and time‑management skills.
- Self‑starter who delivers work under own initiative.
- Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
- Seeking professional certifications.
- 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certificate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS applications.
- Sponsorship will not be available for this role now or in the future.
- Relocation is unavailable for this role.
