Responsibilities- Perform accountability counts on classified systems, hard drives, and cryptographic items inside a Classified Facility.
- Maintain rigorous, signed paper and digital logs for any hardware moving between different security domains or physical locations.
- Cataloging and verifying serial numbers of internal components (e.g., Hard Drives, RAM, CPUs, motherboards).
- Swapping failed components like power supplies, network interface cards, and fiber optic lines.
- Assist Communications Security (COMSEC) custodians with the physical installation and rack‑mounting of network encryption devices.
- Diagnose faults in air‑gapped network switches, high‑secure workstations, and specialized TEMPEST-shielded hardware.
- Execute approved data sanitization protocols, including degaussing magnetic media and physically crushing or shredding solid‑state drives (SSDs).
- Strip non‑cleared components from decommissioned chassis before they are turned over to Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services.
- 2 years of experience in classified property management.
- 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ or similar).
- Final DOD SECRET Security Clearance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, crawl, and work inside tight server racks or under raised flooring.
- Familiarity with NSA‑approved Type 1 cryptographic equipment (e.g., TACLANE encryptors) and key‑loading devices like the SKL.
- Experience using government property systems of record, such as DPAS (Defense Property Accountability System) or WASP.
- Practical knowledge of NIST SP 800-88 guidelines for media destruction, including degaussing and physical crushing procedures.
- Proficient at component‑level swapping (RAM, drives, motherboards, power supplies) on enterprise‑level Dell, HP, or Cisco servers.
- Familiarity with Agile teams and Atlassian Products.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $57,500 - $101,430. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
