Special Programs Security provides leadership to safeguard people and the environment, secure company information, and enhance operational efficiency for The Aerospace Corporation. You will serve as the Special Security Director responsible for implementing security programs that protect classified and unclassified sensitive information. The position supports Department of Defense agencies and Sensitive Compartmented Information activities for Aerospace and Government customers within a classified environment.

What

You’ll Be Doing
  • Direct all aspects of Defense Security Counterintelligence Agency and Security Agency (DCSA), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP)
  • Manage security team members
  • Review, forecast, and monitor department budgets
  • Direct and oversee all ICD‑705 facility construction activities
  • Lead and manage 24/7 contractor security guard force operations
  • Ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Intelligence Community Directives (ICD)
  • Apply expert knowledge of DoDM 5205.07 SAP manual and JSIG
  • Direct all aspects of security related investigations, training, operations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local security operations, policies, and procedures using best practices and risk management principles
  • Oversee and maintain COMSEC program
  • Write and approve Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with customers located on the Colorado Springs campus
  • Write Co‑Use and Joint Use Agreements with government customers
  • Work with support departments to ensure compliance with contract/subcontract security requirements
  • Lead the local Insider Threat Program and pre‑publication reviews
  • Oversee classified storage, annual classified inventory, classified media control, and visitor control program within secure areas
  • Oversee self‑inspections, oversight and compliance
  • Report adverse information to the appropriate CSAs
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Fire Life Safety, emergency preparedness, and EHS programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation
  • Respond to emergencies that require evacuation, shelter‑in‑building (SIB) order, or lock‑down
What You Need to Be Successful – Special Security Director

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 5 or more years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
  • Current TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP accesses. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Availability for after‑hours response to alarm situations if necessary
  • Experience with security and safety programs
  • Knowledge of the DoDM 5205.07 SAP manual, Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG), NISPOM, and ICD series manuals
