Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Generalist License
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a school setting
- Experience in trauma-informed practices, crisis de-escalation, or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in using IEP data management systems (e.g., Enrich) is preferred
Reports To
Director of Exceptional Student Services or Designee
Instructional Responsibilities- Deliver direct instruction aligned with Colorado Academic Standards.
- Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and maintain accurate, timely records.
- Participate in the identification, evaluation, placement, and monitoring of students with disabilities in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct specialized assessments and provide services that align with students' individual needs.
- Maintain current knowledge of Colorado's eligibility criteria for special education and related services.
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to legal and compliance timelines.
- Follow professional standards as outlined by applicable state and national special education organizations.
- Provide coaching and training to support staff on interventions, accommodations, and strategies for student success.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students, families, and team members.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external providers to support holistic student development.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team and remain flexible to the evolving needs of the program and students.
- Implement effective behavior management techniques to support student engagement and success.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet the needs of students and the program.
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with policies and procedures applicable to personnel evaluations.
Working Conditions- Frequent standing, walking, bending, speaking, and listening required.
- Occasional reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving objects up to 25 pounds.
- Must maintain all required licensure in active status throughout employment.
- May be required to work outside of standard hours for meetings or urgent responsibilities.

Additional Information:Candidates must be willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs area prior to starting. Employment is based on an annual contract aligned with the academic calendar and is subject to renewal.
