Position: Mental Health Technician (Day Treatment)
Are you passionate about supporting young people and creating meaningful change? Join Griffith Centers as a Mental Health Technician and play a vital role in helping youth build the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to thrive.

As a Mental Health Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting youth with emotional, behavioral, and educational needs. You will provide daily supervision, mentorship, and skill-building support while helping create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment. Through collaboration with teachers, therapists, and other treatment professionals, you will help youth develop the confidence, resilience, and tools they need to achieve success both in the classroom and in life.

What We Offer:

Base pay: $18.50/hour Opportunity to obtain a substitute teacher authorization and earn an additional $1.00/hour while working in that role.

Retention bonuses of $100 after 30 days, $150 after 6 months, and $200 after 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities:

Provide consistent supervision of students at all times to ensure their safety, accountability, and well-being.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistency in client care and treatment goals.

Participate in and follow Handle With Care (HWC) intervention protocols, including the use of physical restraint when necessary.

Assist in the transportation of clients as necessary per agency’s request.

Assist clients in the treatment process through social skills development, life skills development, anger management, and other skill-building activities.

Serve as a mandatory reporter and promptly report concerns related to client care, safety, welfare, or protection.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Qualifications:

A 4-year college degree and at least one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred; however, the following substitutions will be considered:

A high school diploma or equivalent plus at least two (2) years of experience in the human services field.

A high school diploma or equivalent plus 30 semester hours of college credit and at least one (1) year of relevant experience.

Colorado substitute teacher’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Qualified Medication Administration Personnel Certification (QMAP), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

CPR/First Aid Certifications, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.

Ability to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agency’s clients and staff.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust.

Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record.

Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for childcare facilities. This screening includes initial and ongoing state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. If the employee has lived in any other state within the past five years, equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be conducted.

In addition, employees are required to complete a health evaluation or physical examination prior to beginning service to confirm fitness for duty, and annually thereafter.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
