The Family Engagement Meeting (FEM) Team Supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and oversight of the FEM process. This role ensures high-quality, team‑based facilitation that supports informed decision‑making regarding placement, transitions, service planning, and permanency. The position is responsible for supporting facilitators, maintaining fidelity to FEM practice standards, and partnering closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance positive outcomes for children and families.

Hiring

Range: $75,800.00 - $82,800.00 Annually Anticipated Hiring Rate: $79,730.56 Annually

This is a child protection position; child protection includes engaging families. It is reasonable to anticipate the need for flexibility in work hours periodically to accommodate client schedules. The average workday hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am
-5:00pm, with an on‑call rotation required. Schedule is subject to change.
Hybrid schedule may be available upon successful completion of the initial evaluation period; subject to change

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, additional background checks may be required, including a Government Program Fraud check, and Child Welfare Abuse & Neglect database (TRAILS) check, and Child Welfare Caseworker Falsification check.

Supervises an assigned unit of caseworkers and support staff in the Children, Youth, and Family Services (CYFS) Division of the El Paso County Department of Human Services (DHS) with the mission to preserve and rehabilitate families while protecting children. Oversees and coordinates the practice and primary decision‑making of child protection practices and/or coordinates the services and secondary service decisions. Coordinates with units, teams, and leadership as related to safety, permanency, and well‑being.

May be assigned to the Practice or Support & Services unit. Employment is subject to the terms, conditions, and policies detailed in the Personnel Policies Manual (PPM). This position requires regular in‑person presence as an essential job function.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Supervises assigned caseworkers, case services aides, and administrative support staff, including conducting unit meetings, ensuring work is performed in a timely and accurate manner, and assigning duties as appropriate. Conducts performance evaluations and motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; participates in the hiring and disciplinary process.
  • Communicates the mission of the unit; establishes and monitors the workflow of the unit and assigns applicable cases, assessments, services, and/or placement cases.
  • Conducts and participates in staffing and consultations with caseworkers; meets with appropriate staff to discuss cases, treatment plans, problems, and issues and to address performance.
  • Leads weekly unit meetings to discuss information; participates in DHS administrative meetings involving planning, decision‑making, and management. Coordinates and facilitates staff training as needed.
  • Participates in case‑related staffing, court hearings, reviews, meetings, and family meetings; decides and recommend appropriate case plans and proceedings, as assigned.
